Question 1

What is a pre-roll?

Accepted Answer

A pre-roll is a ready-to-smoke cannabis joint rolled by the manufacturer. Pre-rolls come in a wide range of sizes (from 0.5g singles to 2g+ party rolls), formats (traditional, blunts, cone-shaped), and potencies. They eliminate the need to grind and roll your own cannabis.

Question 2

What is an infused pre-roll?

Accepted Answer

An infused pre-roll contains additional cannabis concentrate — wax, hash, kief, or distillate — applied inside or on the outside of the joint. This increases potency significantly (often 40–60% THC or higher). Infused pre-rolls are popular for experienced consumers who want stronger effects and enhanced flavor.

Question 3

Are pre-rolls made from shake or whole flower?

Accepted Answer

Quality varies by brand. Premium pre-rolls use ground whole flower from specific strains. Budget pre-rolls often use shake — the small bits of bud that collect at the bottom of jars. Single-strain, whole-flower pre-rolls generally burn more evenly and deliver a more consistent experience.

Question 4

What's the difference between a joint and a blunt?

Accepted Answer

A joint is rolled in thin paper — usually hemp or rice. A blunt is rolled in a tobacco leaf wrap or hemp blunt wrap, which is thicker, slower-burning, and adds its own flavor. Blunts typically hold 1–3 grams of cannabis; joints usually hold 0.5–1 gram.

Question 5

How long does a pre-roll burn?

Accepted Answer

A standard 1g pre-roll typically burns for 15–25 minutes depending on draw pace and how tightly it's packed. Infused pre-rolls and blunts burn slower — sometimes 30+ minutes. Pre-rolls are designed to be shared, but you can also extinguish and relight a pre-roll without significantly affecting the experience.

Question 6

How should I store pre-rolls?

Accepted Answer

Store pre-rolls in their original sealed container or a small airtight tube to keep them fresh and prevent the paper from drying out. A humidity pack helps preserve the flower inside. Pre-rolls stay fresh for 3–6 months when stored properly; older pre-rolls can dry out and burn unevenly.

Question 7

What are dogwalker or mini pre-rolls?

Accepted Answer

"Dogwalkers" are small pre-rolls — usually 0.35–0.5g — designed for a single short session, hence the name. They're typically sold in multipacks of 5–10. Mini formats are popular for microdosing, sharing, or anyone who doesn't want to commit to a full-sized joint.

Question 8

Can I bring pre-rolls into Atrium?

Accepted Answer

You can purchase pre-rolls at Atrium and consume them off-site. California law prohibits on-premises consumption at standard dispensaries — only licensed cannabis consumption lounges allow on-site use. Both Atrium locations offer in-store pickup and same-day Los Angeles delivery for pre-rolls.
